About
I'm Ismail, a front-end focused full-stack engineer in Saida, Algeria. I build the parts of a product people touch, and the APIs behind them.
Remote since 2019. I work in English, French or Arabic.
How I got here
I started freelancing in 2019, while I was studying computer science in Saida. Small contracts turned into longer ones, and those turned into roles on product teams.
Since then I've worked with teams in the US, Germany, the Netherlands, France and Algeria: e-commerce, email marketing, internal tools for Motorola Solutions through TRP, and agency work. Most of it front end, in React, Next.js, Vue and Angular, with Node, NestJS or Laravel behind it.
What I care about is the part people use. Interfaces that load fast, work with a keyboard, read well on a phone and don't break when the data is messy. I'm now looking for a team to do that with, full-time or on contract.

Working from Saida
Saida is a city in north-west Algeria. It sits on UTC+1 all year, with no clock changes, so my working day lines up with Europe and overlaps the morning in North America.
Every team I've worked with has been remote. I write things down, keep pull requests small and show work early with a preview link.
